Cole Custer Makes Late Pass on Justin Allgaier for Xfinity Win at Pocono
Cole Custer opened up a can on the field in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Explore the Pocono Mountains 225 at Pocono Raceway as he led 25 laps, won Stage 2, and passed Justin Allgaier for the lead, and eventual win, with nine laps remaining. After taking his first win of the 2024 season, the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion opened up some cans in victory lane as well.
Custer celebrated with his patented “Stone Cold” beer chug in victory lane. The win was Custer’s 14th victory of his NASCAR Xfinity Series career.
William Byron finished third behind Custer and Allgaier, while Sheldon Creed and Taylor Gray rounded out the top-five finishers.

Chandler Smith was not pleased with Sam Mayer following Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Pocono Raceway due to Mayer driving to close to his door in the turns at Pocono Raceway. After the race, Smith sought out Mayer and began shouting at him while Mayer was still inside his car.

Ty Gibbs Edges Out William Byron for Cup Series Pole at Pocono
Two years after making a last-minute NASCAR Cup Series debut at Pocono Raceway, Ty Gibbs is returning to the racetrack looking for his first career victory, which he’ll attempt to hunt down from a first-place starting spot.
The 21-year-old driver dethroned William Byron late in Saturday’s qualifying session to earn his second career pole in the NASCAR Cup Series, posting the second lap of the weekend in the 52-second bracket at 52.929 seconds (170.039mph).
