Billy Johnson, who competed in six combined races in NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series competition between 2010 and 2017, was arraigned on Thursday on charges that he choked a woman in Onondaga, New York in February.
On Thursday, Johnson appeared in town court virtually and his attorney entered pleas of not guilty on both accounts. “My client adamantly denies these allegations,” Johnson’s lawyer, David Hammond, said in an email to Syracuse.com. “We look forward to the truth coming out in the very near future.”
Johnson is scheduled to return to court in June.

What is it about Mother Nature and NASCAR not getting along? On Friday, weather canceled all on-track activity for the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams at the Dirt Bristol Motor Speedway.
As such, the Cup and Truck teams will roll into the remainder of the weekend without a practice session to tinker with and tune their cars and trucks.
