William Byron Overcomes Overheating, Beer Can in Air Filter to Finish 10th at Las Vegas
After a problem early in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway — where a giant trash bag covered the front grille opening of William Byron’s No. 24 Chevrolet — the Hendrick Motorsports team was able to rebound to a top-10 result.
That bag, was taken as a momento by sponsor HP, which backing the No. 24 Chevrolet in the first race of a two-round appearance on the Camaro of the championship-contending driver.
“I think one of the sponsors that were there with us, they had the bag,” Byron’s crew chief Rudy Fugle said in a Monday morning interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “They were pretty disappointed, obviously, because we were leading and doing so well. And I saw them after the race with it, and I was like, ‘Okay, that’s a souvenir for them,’ but that thing was like a 55-gallon trash bag for those big trash cans that you see in the infield of the race track. It got loose.”

Jack Hawksworth Making NASCAR Truck Series Debut with TRICON Garage at COTA
Jack Hawksworth, a standout for Vasser Sullivan Lexus and the reigning champion of the IMSA GTD Pro Class, will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut later on this month at Circuit of The Americas, driving for TRICON Garage.
The 33-year-old racer will get behind the wheel of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro in the event, the fifth full-time entry for the Toyota-backed NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series operation.
Hawksworth joins Christopher Bell, William Sawalich, Toni Breidinger, and Colby Howard as the announced pilots of the entry.

Entry List: 2024 NCS Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway
With just 36 entries shown on the preliminary entry list, for 40 available spots, each one of the teams that travel out west to the one-mile short track located in the heart of the desert will get to take the green flag for Sunday’s 312-mile contest. Notable entries for the event include Kaz Grala (#15, Rick Ware Racing) and Derek Kraus (#16, Kaulig Racing).

Pro All Stars Series Preparing for Easter Bunny 150 Weekend at Hickory on March 15-16
The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model National Championship will once again begin with a doubleheader weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) in the Easter Bunny 150. Currently, 21 teams are entered for the Friday-Saturday event on March 15-16.
The doubleheader format began in 2021, with officials looking to make up the 2020 edition of the event lost due to COVID regulations. As it turned out, the opportunity to give competitors from the Northeastern United States and Canada two races in one weekend proved a popular one, and the pair of 150-lap races have remained since then.
Currently, 21 drivers have filed entries for the Easter Bunny 150 weekend at Hickory. The St. Patrick’s Day 150 will take place on Friday, March 15, followed by the Easter Bunny 150 on Saturday, March 16.
