98 races later, Brandon Jones is back in victory lane. After a lengthy dry spell, filled with bouts of bad luck and misfortune, the native of Atlanta, Georgia saw his persistence rewarded with his sixth career NASCAR Xfinity Series win in Saturday’s Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway.

Jones, who took the lead for the third and final time by passing Brennan Poole on a restart with 12 laps remaining, would go on to hold off Chase Elliott for the race win.

William Byron Earns Cup Pole at Darlington; Ryan Preece Second

William Byron will lead the field to green in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway after turning the fastest lap in the Next Gen era at the 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval.

Ryan Preece, the driver of the No. 60 RFK Racing Ford who has been on a hot streak of late, will start from the outside of the front row in Sunday’s race.
