Alex Bowman Cleared to Return to NASCAR Cup Series for Coca-Cola 600

Alex Bowman, who has been sidelined for the last four NASCAR Cup Series points-paying events, and this past weekend’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway has officially been cleared to return to action for the Coca-Cola 600.
Bowman suffered a fractured vertebra on April 25th in a sprint car crash at 34 Raceway. As part of his approval process, Bowman drove 170 laps around North Wilkesboro Speedway on Tuesday in a NASCAR-approved medical evaluation test.
Despite missing four point races, Bowman still sits 17th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings, and is just five points outside the Playoffs cut line.

NASCAR Making Next Gen Chassis Tweak Following Analysis of Talladega Crash

Following a horrific crash between Kyle Larson and Ryan Preece at Talladega Superspeedway, which saw the right-side door rail bars caved in by several feet on Larson’s car, NASCAR has issued optional safety updates to the NASCAR Next Gen Car.
After evaluating both the No. 5 and No. 41 cars that were involved in the crash, NASCAR approved the addition of six right-side door bar gussets that will add additional strength to the right-side door cage. Additionally, NASCAR has mandated the removal of the front clip v-brace, which will soften the front ends of the Next Gen cars.
NASCAR will conduct a two-day crash test at a facility in Ohio on Wednesday and Thursday to determine if additional changes are necessary,

Brad Perez is back and so are the magical beans! The driver known affectionately by his fans as Bread, will make his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the 2023 season at Sonoma Raceway.
Perez will pilot the No. 53 Emerling-Gase Motorsports entry and he will carry primary sponsorship from APEX Coffee Roasters. BoneSteel Aerospace will serve as an associate sponsor for the effort.
