Christopher Bell Slips Up and Says Chase Briscoe will Join JGR in 2025
The rumor mill has been heavily suggesting that the opening No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing ride will be Chase Briscoe’s. During a media availability on Friday, current Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell made an embarrassing error, where he basically admitted Briscoe would be joining the team.
Bell was asked about replacing the leadership role of the retiring Martin Truex Jr. within the Joe Gibbs Racing team, and whether he will need to step up his role within the team, Bell accidentally revealed the news of Chase Briscoe joining the Joe Gibbs Racing team, which has been rumored since Truex announced his retirement.
“I don’t think that there is really a leadership role in that aspect, and whenever Chase comes into the car,” Bell stopped as he realized his mistake, and his face became noticeably flush. “Whenever someone else– I don’t even know what to say. Whenever we have a new driver into the 19 car, whoever that is, their experience level will dictate how much input they have in the team.”

Aric Almirola Still with JGR Xfinity Program, Set to Run at Indianapolis
Aric Almirola, who won at Martinsville Speedway earlier in the season and competed in five of the opening 11 races for the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series program, hasn’t been in action over the last four races, which has led speculation to run rampant about where the veteran racer is.
Rumors had even begun to circulate that Almirola was no longer with the race team.
On Friday, a team representative confirmed to TobyChristie.com that there has been no changes in Almirola’s status within the team, and that the driver is currently slated to return to the JGR Xfinity program as a driver at Indianapolis next month.
