Austin Dillon Stripped of Playoff Eligibility; Joey Logano Fined Post-Richmond
On Wednesday, NASCAR issued a lengthy penalty report following Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. Austin Dillon, who won the race by spinning out Joey Logano and right-rear hooking Denny Hamlin on the final lap, will keep his race win, but will lose the automatic Playoff berth that goes along with it. Dillon and the No. 3 RCR team were also docked 25 driver and owner points, and spotter Brandon Benesch, who was heard saying, “Wreck him,” on the team radio has been suspended for three races.
Joey Logano was also fined $50,000 for his post-race shenanigans on pit road.

Kurt Busch Facing DWI, Reckless Driving Charges Following Monday Arrest
Kurt Busch, the 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion, is facing charges of DWI, and careless and reckless driving, and speeding following an arrest on Monday.
The 46-year old driver was clocked going 63 mph in a 45 mph zone and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.17%, which is over double the legal limit of 0.08%.
Busch is scheduled to be in court on September 19 to face the charges.
