AM Racing Acquired by Sigma Performance Services Racing, Which Expands Racing With Ford Support
In a major Monday morning announcement, Sigma Performance Services Racing revealed its acquisition of AM Racing, which will pair the two motorsports teams with manufacturer support from Ford Racing.
In 2026, Sigma Performance Services Racing will field entries in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, the ARCA Menards Series, and the organization will run an expanded late model program. The full umbrella of the team’s motorsports endeavors will come under the Sigma Performance Services Racing team branding.
The move allows Sigma Performance Services Racing the unique opportunity to gain a higher level of manufacturer support, which should allow the race team to hit on all cylinders from its driver development program in late models and ARCA to the NASCAR National Series.

Richard Childress Contemplating Legal Action After Seeing Unearthed Texts Between NASCAR Executives
Richard Childress and Richard Childress Racing were taken aback by unearthed internal text messages between NASCAR executives featured in a recent dump of legal documents tied to the upcoming lawsuit from 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports against NASCAR.
In the text messages, NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps and Brian Herbst, NASCAR EVP, Chief Media & Revenue Officer, the executives bash Childress, a six-time NASCAR Cup Series championship-winning team owner, who was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2017.
On Monday afternoon, Richard Childress Racing issued a statement on the messages, where the organization and team owner stated their deep disappointment with the content contained within the text conversations between NASCAR executives.
“RCR and Richard Childress are deeply disappointed by the insensitive and defamatory statements made about Mr. Childress in recently surfaced text messages between NASCAR executives Steve Phelps and Brian Herbst. These comments reflect the way certain NASCAR executives have historically viewed and treated many team owners like Mr. Childress, who have devoted their lives to strengthening the sport for its fans, its sponsors, and all who compete in it,” the team said in its statement.

Brent Crews to Pilot No. 19 for JGR in 2026 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series
17-year-old Brent Crews will slide behind the wheel of the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra, nearly full-time, for Joe Gibbs Racing during the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. Crews, who is ineligible to compete in four races early in the season due to his age, will make his season debut at Circuit of the Americas on February 28.

After sitting out the events at Daytona International Speedway (February 14), EchoPark Speedway (February 21), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 14), and Darlington Raceway (March 21), Crews will run the duration of the season.
The young racer, who has shown an incredible ability to compete on road courses, is thrilled with the chance to compete for Joe Gibbs Racing this year in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
