On Wednesday, Hendrick Motorsports announced that Alex Bowman, the driver of the team’s No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NASCAR Cup Series, will be out of action for 3-to-4 weeks.

Bowman, who was involved in a spectacular crash in the High Limit Racing Series winged sprint car event at 34 Raceway on Tuesday night, suffered a compression fracture of his vertebra. Bowman was treatment locally and then following a re-evaluation in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday morning, it was determined that the racer would miss some time.
